devildom3realms1: Catastrophe! [After the non-cat catastrophe that flew wide open time travel doors and summoning magic got exponentially increased, Lucifer, Barbatos and Diavolo have been working around the clock to tamp things down. The best they could do was magically sealing truly apocalyptic paradox inducing dead-ends to create a funnel that allowed people to flee there and wind up here, but stabilizing the gates is taking so much power, they keep debating just letting the chaos in.]
[Lucifer gathers all the new people to the Royal Academy of Diavolo main hall and auditorium and promptly goes about business.]
Quiet! [He's not casting a spell, but he is in full demon form, because it's better for absorbing the worst dangers and at this point no one knows if it's going to start raining gemstones, humans, or turn denizens into flowers, pigs, or anything else in between.]
We can't fix this until we identify it. In the meantime I'll take care of the worst. [Because no one is insane enough to WANT to do the paperwork to coordinate this between governments and realms. Obviously. Lucifer himself wouldn't, but it's worse if he doesn't.] If you have investigation skills [He points to a small queue.] you can work on identifying it. Housing will be provided to make up for this. Try not to make anything worse than it already is. [Even Lucifer knows he's basically jinxing himself by saying that.]
2: So... this is new:
[A lot of the people may find themselves sporting new horns, angel/demon bat/bird/pterodactyl wings, appendages, scales, fur, wool, etc. Panic? Have fun with it? Adjust? Try to figure out how to hold a new smartphone with HOOVES?! Any/all of the above!]
[Colors can be absolutely anything at all, but like a cartoon bull to red, is most likely to influence how others perceive or are you drawn to you! Beware!]
[Pink = Lust, Yellow = Greed, Green = Anger, Blue = Pride, Purple = Sloth, Red = Gluttony, Orange = Envy! Variations can be based on any mix and match, and aren't necessarily exclusive if you want to defy expectations.]
3: WHAT IS THAT?!
[After getting a literal brochure (magic works fast!) and explainer, and thank Diavolo he thought to put the Karasu on the DDD's -- anyone trying to go outside may see a rather apocalyptic hell storm of the literal physical embodiment of chaos. Lighting, magic streaks of all colors, sparkles, tornadoes of lurid neon, and occasionally farm animals go flying out of it like reverse Wizard of Oz.]
[And just as you might be thinking of heading out despite that doom explosion- Lucifer in all his demon form shows up behind you and gently but firmly, shuts the door. He's not reading anyone's mind, it's just on everyone's mind right now:]
No, that's not normal. No, we don't know where it comes from, and no, please try to avoid it for now. If it calms down, you can go to your new home. I recommend a buddy system, if you're worried. Some of the denizens here bite.
4: IS this Home?!
[Housing isn't necessarily scarce usually, but given the circumstances, it's a little rushed. Even so, everyone is a flurry of activity to try to make new, better housing suitable for people, and occasionally if you listen, you can DEFINITELY hear a lot of yelling back and forth, "NOT BARNS! They're not normally cows!" and "We need way more kitchens!" and "We need more food!" only to be followed up by loud moos, crashes, and killer tomatoes from space splats with a "Never mind!"]
[At least there's the stipend! Try to make things more comfortable and your style. Go shopping! Show it off on the DDD! Compare!]
[Or maybe whine about the circumstances. Do you. Make sure you meet your roommates though.]
5. DDD's are fun
[While most of the Devildom news is focused on the chaos storm and how all of the summoning portals are going haywire, and then also all of the demons taking ADVANTAGE of that, there's still some older posts of "normal" life in Devildom. TV has everything you'd see on Earth, and then some. Sports, cooking (though the foods here are all different), and you might come across the Deviltube video "1001 reasons I love TSL, comparing the special edition boxset books vs. the dvds!" That one might take a long time.]
[Or maybe chatting up anyone else on the system is more your jam.]
[Karasu will explain any features you wonder about. There is also a map, if you get lost. Though again, depending on your tech savvy, who knows how well that works to help.]
6. After-hours Drinking:
[There's no drinking age limit in Devildom. But as it is, demonus doesn't affect humans (no matter what their shapeshifted form unless they're a demon now) and angels wouldn't touch it anyway. There are a LOT of bars, restaurants, and nightclubs in Devildom, but for the sake of time, assume they're all crowded for obvious reasons, and almost everyone is trying to get their freak on, especially with new exotic newbies. Keep it PG-13 here, and take it to your own inboxes if it gets intense, please! Also, PLEASE be careful. Not every demon is as nice as Lucifer. Okay, Lucifer's not nice. Not every demon has as much control over their urge to eat souls as much as Lucifer. Should you really be drinking surrounded by demons??? And yes, demons eat other demons sometimes. Do try to keep each other under basic lines of decency. Whatever that means in Hell.]
[Or maybe you truly do have nothing to worry about, because you've already mastered enough of color magic and the like, and you're just dying to show it off! There are constant dance battles, rap battles, dance-offs, paint battles, color splashes, and everything in between. Enjoy! One demon's hell is another's paradise.]

I hope you can meet him. He loves angels. [EYEROLL.] Don't spread that around. While there is peace now -- well, was, additional chaos aside; peace is something to maintain -- many angels look down on demons, demons look down on humans, and all three hold some resentment over anything seen as interference in each others' business. The school helps teach demons -- [A slight twitch, and literally ruffled black feathers.] Empathy, vision, intuition -- things to keep them from waging war on others. Likewise, it offers to teach angels and humans our way of magic, the [U G H. His eyes flicker up, he can't believe he has to say this. He doesn't make finger quotes, but you can hear them in vibes/intensity:] "fun" [Yes, he looks disgusted.] of chaos, and non-lethal methods of dealing with sins and temptations. [Hence the involvement of Lucifer and his brothers.]
[As for the King: Lucifer is quiet momentarily.] After my brothers and I fell, I think he worried less about Lord Diavolo, and felt free to journey to the depths. But this is my personal thoughts on it, not capable of being confirmed or not. You could ask others, but I suggest being careful about it. Most aren't as willing to give those who look like angels such free reign to poke around. Likewise, the classes might offer you more clues, but I understand that is time consuming. [And for a being who's millions of years old, yeah, that's saying something.] Lord Diavolo tried to make them more expedient for mortals' sakes, but curiosity is weighty. [The more you learn, the more you wish to learn. etc.] If you wish, I'll lend you my pass to the library, but [A cruel smile!] That might be more overwhelming than helpful.

We have a ridiculous number of classes, growing every day. There's even a free student stipend, so you can focus on your studies.
[A beat. "Not that that stops my brothers!" He isn't going to admit that.]
We have two libraries. One here, and then the city's. I suggest starting with the one here, you wouldn't even need my pass for that. If you find any books missing, let me know, I can hunt down my brother Satan and see if he's accidentally holding onto it in his room. Do avoid anything labeled "Forbidden," however. Not that demons abide by such rules, but they're all cursed and generally afflict everything from body-swaps to de-aging, to cursed carnivals, and everything in between. Those are mine and Satan's favorites.

Date: 2026-01-08 11:00 pm (UTC)I take it he was incredibly chained up at the time? It's been a few centuries, and while he's still the avatar of wrath, he's no longer... usually taking it out on others. Just me.
[A very very tiny head bow.] Please do not hold it against him. The process by which he first came here was excruciatingly difficult for him. We are all trying to use the pain of that time to make it smoother for others. I am not asking you to trust demons, not even myself, simply leave any grudges against him, to me to deal with. I take responsibility for all my brothers here. Even Mammon. [Though there isn't enough grimm in existence nor places to hang Mammon from to "fix" that particular problem.]
He is, as you said: incredibly clever. Fond of books, especially detective novels, cats, curse magic, traps, and one of the most powerful demons of all time. [Not as much as Lucifer, who also sees Satan like a baby, but you know parthenogenesis is weird. Lucifer also half expects now would be the absolute worst time for anyone to overhear that near gushing. "Proud papa," he can already hear the teasing.]
He also never cleans his room and can frequently forget to return favorite books to the library, because they got buried under the ones he's bought, not to mention the hundreds and thousands he downloads daily. [From proud papa to mother hen in new record timing!]

[Satan was literally only created from Lucifer declaring war on their father and splintering his own mind and soul, and tearing off his own wings.]
[There's a distant look as Lucifer weighs how much is his own story to tell vs. the others to tell their portions.]
Satan wasn't created by our Father like the rest of us. He was born of my sins. My rage. My animosity. [The wings and horns come back, simply from trying to remember those early days.]
My brothers all had reasons to join me in exile, and I've always been grateful. Except Satan didn't have that choice. He was never in the celestial realm as an angel, he was born of that fall. [A small shudder. The weakest part of him wants nothing more than to flee this conversation... but his pride would never allow it.] Early on he had no control at all. He would destroy almost all he could. His memories... [Lucifer pauses. In order for Satan to be his own entity and not just Lucifer's shadow, his fractured wings' "mistake," he wants to let Satan determine his own everything as much as possible.] lacked context for him to even make sense of them. [Red eyes peer back on the Doctor as if weighing the new angel's very soul.]
[Lucifer's expression softens, actually fondly.] In those days he just hated everything. The others could rely on me when times were excruciating for them, but Satan didn't know how, and anyway: refused. [All of Lucifer's rage at God, rage at humans, sorrow over Lilith, and just twisting it back into pretzels to direct it at Lucifer himself. Self loathing separated into two halves. Can't hate Father, can't be proud of Father creating him and resent it at the same time so-- a non-paradoxical solution: Satan. Angry at Lucifer, humans, heaven, demons, hell, existence. Confused by everything like the others, but lacking context to understand it.] We would bind him in the heaviest angel chains, cast him in cement, and I would have to feed him like a baby bird. [He laughs softly but... Lucifer literally had to hold Satan's nose to get him to open his mouth.] These days, as I said, he is finding more things he likes. As well as himself. [Proud Papa again.]
Just make sure you never try to get in his way. He mostly lashes out at me now, so if there is a problem, I will handle it, but it is best not to give him unnecessary opportunities. And his favorite hobby is still trying to be a nuisance, to me. Rarely anyone else.
[Holds a hand up.] Needless to say, I am his least favorite. Provided you don't mention me, and treat him as respectfully as you've granted me this conversation, you should have no problems. He probably wouldn't remember those days either. They were a very long time ago, even for us.

I assure you, no one in the main 3 realms would agree with you, except Lord Diavolo, and even he would never say it. [Even the prince has run and hid from angry Lucifer! Though usually, Diavolo is the one to stop Lucifer from doing anything he'd regret. And is the only one who truly could.] But I'll thank you nevertheless. Just remember, appearances can be deceiving. What was that about never meeting a trustworthy demon?
